Los Penguinos

I admit it – I LOVE penguins! When we took a cruise around South America in 2017, if there was a penguin excursion, we were on it. These Gentoos in their nesting area, most of them fledglings, were too cute to pass up.

When capturing images of wildlife with a telephoto lens, it’s always best to have the help of a tripod. I didn’t on this trip, and I’ve lived to regret it. For every close up that turned out, ten more were out of focus. Relying on the camera’s autofocus was another mistake. Live and learn!
