Charles Bridge, Prague
We didn’t expect to find dense crowds in Prague, Czech Republic, in the cold days of winter, but there they were. Pedestrians mobbed the famous Charles Bridge with its ornate religious statues spanning the Vltava River and connecting sides of the old city. The rare blue sky day invited strolling, even if one had to bundle up to do so. If you weren’t in a tourist location, the city was quiet except for gusts of wind and calls from resident birds.
I love the cityscape and pure blue sky of this shot. The crowd tells stories, as do the artists with their hands encased in gloves while still trying to draw. I hate to think about how crowded this attraction must be, though, in the height of the tourist season!
