Big Island Sunset
The wonderful thing about being almost anywhere on Hawaii is that you either have an amazing sunrise in the morning or an unparalleled sunset in the evening – and depending on where you are, you might get both! Still, it’s hard to find a new angle on a sunset, but the addition of tiki torches lit in the foreground added a little spice.
This image came from our first foray to the Big Island, to the Mauna Kea Beach Hotel built by Jay Rockefeller in 1963. Its sophisticated Old Hawaii elegance charmed us. There was nothing like bubbly and pupus in the bar at sunset to make the day complete.
